by Hana

Did you know that postcard printing in Singapore can be used for marketing as well? Postcard printing is often requested by a lot of marketers because postcards remain to be one of the most effective online marketing tools that you can get, even in this digital era. Surely, you don’t want to miss out on this especially if you are trying to find an effective low-cost marketing tool for consideration.

Now, if you are interested, here are some of the tips that you can take note of to make your postcard attractive and work effectively for your target audience.

1. Thick Card Stock

When it comes to postcard printing, card stock matters a lot. The thicker it is, the better. Thicker cardstock feels more valuable and expensive compared to thinner card stock that appears cheap and not impressive. Your customer will have a better perspective on postcards with thicker card stock. If you choose thick or premium card stock, you can secure your chance on standing out compared to the other postcards that use thinner card stock. Of course, only do this when your budget allows. There’s no pressure to absolutely do this without fail.

2. Consider No Coating

Yes, coating makes your postcard look shiny and attractive after printing. However, with coating, it is more difficult to write on the postcard. A postcard should be writeable for taking notes, so it’s better to settle for an uncoated stock. Or, you can opt to coat one side and leave the other uncoated. This one is more often done because coating does add a little spark to your postcard.

3. Use Bold Typeface on Uncoated Postcard

Without the coating, your postcard will look more muted. It is better to avoid thin typefaces as they often look fuzzy from ink spread on uncoated stock. You have to specifically pay attention to this when you use a dark background color.

4. Be Careful With UV Coating

UV coating undoubtedly makes your postcard colors look more vibrant. But you have to be careful because using UV coating, your postcard will be more difficult to write on. Markers will definitely smudge on UV coated postcards without being left to dry for a while. However, UV coating is definitely not all bad. In fact, you can consider this finish to make your postcard more fade-resistant.

5. Print Bigger

If you want to stand out even more, you should definitely consider printing your postcard slightly bigger than the standard size. Most postcards are in A6 size, but nobody ever set the rules for postcards to be absolutely in that precise size. You can make it bigger so that in the stack of mails and postcards your recipient gets, your postcard gets noticed first. This can be really effective for marketing efforts that you do.

So, those are the 5 postcard printing tips that you can do. Even if you are still confused, just make your first step and start designing. With the right printing shop, you will be able to get a proper guidance to get yourself the perfect postcard for marketing.
